Application of RFID Vehicle Identification System in Automotive Welding Production Line

Traditional manual welding and special machine welding have problems such as high labor intensity and harsh working environment in the production process, and it is also difficult to ensure welding quality. With the increasing demands of the automotive industry for new body materials, flexible production capacity and vehicle types, production reliability and pace, traditional welding methods are no longer able to meet market demands. To address these issues, most vehicle manufacturers currently use flexible automated welding assembly lines based on various welding robots. Application of RFID Vehicle Identification System in Automotive Welding Production Line In the production environment of the welding workshop, the use of barcodes for collecting vehicle information is prone to damage and contamination, so RFID technology is generally used for vehicle identification and automatic tracking. RFID technology has the characteristics of non-contact, high efficiency, and high reliability, which can effectively solve the shortcomings of barcodes in harsh environments. RFID carriers are usually installed on a sled and can move along the welding production line in the welding workshop. When working, RFID readers are usually fixed on the welding production line. When the RFID carrier on the sled moves to the vicinity of the car body, the RFID reader can collect various operational information, fault information, body welding point information, and operator information of the production line and equipment in real time, and transmit these information to upper level systems such as central servers or cloud platforms for processing and analysis.   Working principle of the body recognition system in the welding workshop In addition, the RFID body recognition system in the welding workshop can automatically switch welding programs and parameters based on vehicle identification information, improving production efficiency. At the same time, the robots on the welding production line also have the ability to automatically recognize vehicle models, select parts for the corresponding vehicle models according to the production plan, and stop working and alarm when errors or missing parts are found. In addition, industrial RFID devices can also monitor the quality of welding processes, collect and upload real-time welding process information of each workpiece to the database system. Finally, the reader/writer deployed at the workstation can read RFID information bound to the vehicle body, enabling management and monitoring of processes such as workpiece assembly welding and repair welding. The application of RFID body recognition system in the welding production line can achieve fast, accurate, wireless identification and tracking of car bodies, thereby helping the welding workshop better manage production progress and quality. In addition, by integrating with other production management systems such as MES (Manufacturing Execution System), more efficient production processes and more accurate data analysis and decision-making can be achieved.
