The automotive painting production line is usually a relatively enclosed environment to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the work area. On the painting production line, various chemicals and coatings are involved, so strict safety measures need to be taken to ensure the health and safety of employees. In this working environment, body recognition technology can improve production efficiency and quality, reduce human errors and defects.
In the automotive painting production line, the commonly used body recognition technologies mainly include the following:
Machine vision recognition technology: Machine vision systems scan and inspect the surface of a car body to identify coating quality and defects. This technology can automatically detect coating thickness, color difference, sagging, pitting, potholes, bubbles, and other issues. Meanwhile, machine vision systems can also recognize components and classify and manage them.
Optical recognition technology: In the painting production line, coding disc recognition technology is mainly used for positioning and control of the vehicle body. The coding disc is a type of identification fixed on the production line. By detecting the position and motion status of the coding disc, accurate positioning and control of the car body can be achieved. The steel barcode recognition technology is mainly used for tracking and managing automotive parts. By scanning and identifying the steel bar code, automated management and tracking of components can be achieved.
Lidar recognition technology: Lidar technology can be used for 3D scanning and detection of vehicle bodies. By scanning the surface of the vehicle with LiDAR, three-dimensional point cloud data of the vehicle can be obtained, and further processing and analysis of the point cloud data can be carried out to identify defects and problems on the surface of the vehicle.
With the maturity of
RFID technology, more and more vehicle manufacturers are adopting
RFID technology for vehicle information collection.
RFID can automatically collect data in harsh painting environments, while also having good compatibility and stability.
The
RFID car painting production line mainly relies on the code carrier installed on the vehicle sled and the
RFID antenna fixed on the rolling bed at key positions in the workshop for vehicle identification and tracking. Each
RFID antenna is called a station, responsible for reading and writing code carriers, and transmitting information to the PLC through the underlying device transmission network. There is a code carrier installed on the sled in the painting workshop, which records vehicle information such as model, color, quality issues, batch number, and serial number. Write the code carrier at the online location of the painting workshop, i.e. station 1, until it is cleared at the offline interface or after replacing the sled. The information written into the carrier code will be used as the vehicle information, which will be identified and tracked during the entire process of the vehicle passing through the workshop.
The use of body recognition technology on the painting production line can help workers quickly and accurately identify the model, color, painting scheme, and other information of vehicles, and accurately locate the position and path of paint spraying. At the same time, body recognition technology can also help painting robots avoid body parts or markings during spraying, in order to avoid spraying errors or defects, thereby improving painting quality and efficiency. Therefore, body recognition technology is very important on the painting production line.
